SUMMARY The G5 Meridian is a 1950s-inspired 20ATM automatic watch that stands out in the Vaer line-up as our most premium USA-assembled model and our first true GMT. As a G-series model, this watch is part of our dual timezone automatic series, distinguished by its ocean-ready functionality, ultra-slim self-winding movement, and full American assembly.
WHO IS THIS WATCH FOR? We recommend the G5 for those seeking a premium automatic dual-timezone watch that references the very best GMTs in history. The timeless nature of mechanical movements makes it the perfect fit for an everyday wearer, and the 39mm case sizing is large enough to command presence on most men's wrists while still maintaining our commitment to ergonomic, and timeless proportions.
INSPIRATION The G5 Meridian is the GMT version of the Meridian diver (our core dive watch design). In designing that watch, our goal was to pay homage to military history while also further establishing a distinct and modern Vaer aesthetic. This watch's dial design is inspired by the 1970s Rolex Milsub and 1950s GMT Master, worn by American Pan Am pilots in the early days of commercial aviation. The dial features Vaer’s distinctive curved trapezoid indices, and round dots at the 2, 4, 8, 10, (another hallmark of Vaer dials). The G5 GMT is further distinguished as one of the first Vaer model to use X1-grade lume paint - the feature that helps it achieve such an incredible night-time glow.
